Currently there is no 100% guaranteed cure available on the market for nail fungus. Topical medications have limited to no effect. Oral medications come with serious risk of side effects and resolution rates well under 70%. Patients should research the side effects before commencing this medication.
Cure is defined as the end of a medical condition as such there is currently NO cure for nail fungus, however the use of certain lasers is currently the closest we have to a cure. At Brighton Podiatry we have been using laser surgery to treat nail fungus for 2 years we have a wealth of experience in treating nail fungus but cannot guarantee a cure for nail fungus. We have a resolution rate of better than 80%.
Laser Cure for Nail Fungus
The procedure involves passing a laser through the nail plate this destroys the fungus within the nail plate and also the fungus on the skin below the nail plate. There is no damage to the skin around and under the nail plate. Patients can resume normal activity as soon as the procedure is completed.
